thus far i have cooked white rice(long and short grain), brown rice and basmati rice.
we purchased this rice cooker last week, and have used it twice for brown rice.
although the instructions say you can't make jook out of brown rice, i've found that i can if i'm willing to put extra time into it.
we use it for brown (gaba setting) rice, i never liked brown rice before, i liked traditional japanese white rice.
it's easy to prepare a cup of rice in the morning before i go to work and so satisfying to have the best brown rice when we get home.
so far, i've used it for white and brown rice with and without the automatic timer and it works great.
i have been using my zojirushi ns-zcc18 ten-cup rice cooker now for more than a year and it has produced perfect brown rice every time.
it has settings for white rice, brown rice, sushi rice, and others.
so after buying this cooker, i read quickly through the manual and tried my first batch...it was perfect!
itself i see why.other thoughts: this device is a bit pricey, but if you are as particular about your rice, and plan to cook for your family or yourself frequently it quickly makes up for it!

when you make sushi rice use a little less than the amount of water they specify for white rice.
i can do rice, quinoa, and even dried beans!

i use it nearly everyday- rice is cooked quick and easy without the worry of sticking to the pan or burning- even brown rice-
it's great for everything i've tried so far - veggies, rice, fish.
within 10 minutes of turning it on, you will have perfectly steamed broccoli, asparagus, etc.
corn on the cob, broccoli, etc never tasted better than cooked in this steamer...
i threw a sample of all the veggies i happened to have in the fridge into the bottom container and let it rip!

i read a couple of reviews that said it can only cook white rice.
for white rice it's as easy as 'set it and forget it'.
not to mention that if you are cooking your typical white rice (long-grain) always get rice that has been imported from thialand, never rinse it.
boiling broccoli always adds a ton of water and makes it super soggy, but this is the best way to cook broccoli (and other things of course...) i would definately recommend this product.
i use it strictly for brown rice.
the rice always turns out great (whether it's wild rice, brown rice, white rice, etc).
brown rice takes longer than it says; but cooks it perfectly.
of course it works great for veggies and rice but hard boiled eggs turn out perfect!
it does have a porridge and soup function (which i haven't tried yet.) brown rice cooked up well.

i live alone and it is the perfect size for me to steam rice and veggies.
admittedly, it's the only one i've ever owned, so i have no basis for comparison, but everything i've put in it has come out perfectly, including brown rice (just soak it for 2 hours before cooking).

i believe this will be perfect for healthful cooking as i am really more interested in steaming vegetables rather than rice.

it makes very good brown rice, and excellent jasmine, white, basmati, etc...my only real complaint is that it always bubbles up and sticky steam/water emits from the top about 3/4 of the way through
it delivers great, fluffy white rice consistently.
i have now used it to make rice and to make rice while steaming a bag of frozen vegetables.
it has different program to cook rice or porridge, it is really worry free.
i've made lots of brown rice and risotto with outstanding results.

as a health nut who cooks a lot of brown rice for stir fry, i started to notice that the more i used it, the worse it got.
