Overall, cool stainless design and very user-friendly. I'm very happy with my Krups rice-cooker. I'm very happy with my Krups rice-cooker. from Pricegrabber.com The lid cracked after just 2 uses. It seems that the lid would get "hung up" on the hinge every time the lid was opened. One day I looked, and low and behold it was cracked--almost halfway across the entire lid (from the hinge outward) Doesn't seem to affect cooking because the lid still seals, but a disappointment after spending extra $ on the Krups name. Also, sometimes (not always though) the slow cooker mode goes into the "keep warm" mode after only 10 minutes or so. from Amazon.com I have done so for many years and have collected a small array of high-end essentials for making cooking a pleasure instead of a chore. I am not into gadgets; I do not own a bullet, or hot dog toaster or anything else my mother didn't use -- I figure why waste the space in the kitchen and clutter up my life if good tools can do the job. Just a back ground on my purchasing habits; I have a Kitchenaid mixer, Cuisinart food processor, Cuisinart blender, Rival basic crockpot and a Krups toaster oven. Last, cooking small amounts is tricky in terms of measuring the water correctly and preventing overcooking on the bottom of the rice. Krups' gadget is no exception on the last issue -- the bottom layer consistently gets a bit brown on the "keep warm" setting.
