I don't know if their burner does not turn off early enough or if it is just too hot but the results in our case was poorly cooked rice all of the time. Given the large similar reported problems with this unit, it sounds like either a design problem (all units will have this problem) or a manufacturing issue (where a fair number of these units have the problem). We tried our daughers "Rival" brand rice cooker and it had not problems at all.
