it makes excellent white rice (we use the japanese kind), and cleanup is a breeze. from Amazon.com i haven't tried the slow cooker cycle yet, but i've made brown rice with good results. from Amazon.com she has had one excuse after another from "it is undergoing testing" to "shipping from china is delayed due to a slowing economy". from Amazon.com it is fast and keeps warm for several hours, with a timer to remind you. from Amazon.com i use it almost every day for regular rice, brow rice, yam, sweet rice, steam vegetables, stew, herbal soup, bean soup, etc. from Amazon.com I bought this produce because I hoped that it would be healthier than cooking my rice and stews in an alumized pot. It worked fine at first, but then I noticed a fatal flaw to this product, the aluminum element actually deposits aluminum all over the bottom of the pot, (thus when you wash the bowl after use, you are scrubbing aluminum all over the bowl as well as your subsequent dishes). from Amazon.com I have looked for a rice cooker that is made of clay and doesn't have ANY coating on.
