On the basis of these two facts, I should have returned it. Then the entire timing system failed at less than six months. Now I am shopping again, but it will not be a Rival. I'm glad the other buyers had a good experience, but I surely did not and I am a faithful QVC purchaser. from Qvc.com I had the original Rival steamer for almost 15 years, it finally quit on me. I never thought I would find another I loved as much as my old one, but this one even tops that!It is so much bigger than the picture even shows, it holds ALOT of food and can steam a dozen eggs quickly. from Qvc.com my last RIVAL steamer last until i missplaced it ( about 12 years ) so i bought another and am equally impressed with overall quality of it especially for the price i paid!
