like many other cookers, it will also do brown rice well, except that the additional water requirements will result in an excessive amount of muddy brown splatter around the outside of the steam vent.
i prefer brown rice and it cooks perfectly with no splattering, all over the counter, like my old rice cooker.
this rice cooker cooks rice quickly (15 minutes or so) and it keep the rice warm until you are ready to eat.
note that although you can warm for quite a while, the rice will eventually dry out and faster still if you are only cooking a small amount.
just a quick wipe with soapy water and it's clean.
pros: easy clean up, retractable cord, makes large quantities, solid construction cons: guidelines for water quantities when cooking brown rice.
pros: worked with brown rice, does not take up too much space, cooks half pot fine cons: a little pricey..
does not cook as fast as our old cooker, but the rice is much better and does not scorch or stick to the bowl.
i use it to make brown rice a few times a week and it makes perfect rice every time.
