with a bit of tweaking i managed to get each activity the way i wanted it, although i needed to ask logitech's tech support to enter different remote codes for my two tivos, which they did correctly

my tv supports discrete ir codes - remote codes that tell it "power on" and "power off" instead of simply "toggle power." the same goes for switching inputs - my tv can be told "switch to hdmi2"

the available database of remote codes is huge.

all that is needed for remote codes is the model number.

a much better option would be client side software that retrieves remote codes from an database and lets you configure the remote locally.

pros: database is constantly updated so that you hav ethe latest remote codes, programming (basic) is very simple.

the remote worked without any trouble and my pronto pro easily learned the ir remote codes.

i did run into a problem when i learned the remote codes with the pronto.

there were no universal remote codes for my cheap $xx magnavox dvd player.
