to switch from the default of a title and 4 selections on the lcd to 6 selections before the sa explorer 8300hd dvr cable box selection to list the available recordings was displayed but that's it.

so i delegated the "e" for enter on the remote to perform the same thing my dish network remote has, to jump to my recording list.

the only caveat is if you are recording on the dvr or have backed up the program and are not watching live tv when you press the off button it will not shut the dvr down.

i had an issue with the craptaculor operation of the cable box ( powering it on and off was difficult due to dvr settings: late night recording ) so i sent an email off to customer support.
