i tried the other big key remote that's available at various places for $10 and couldnt get it to work with our cable box and tv.
i was having trouble locating any remote that is compatible with the olevia brand of tv.
set-up was also really simple, and my grandparents have direct-tv.
unfortunately, the remote is not compatible with the new lg lcd tv that she has and i need to return them.
first of all, when you turn the remote on for the first time, it asks you what type of device do you want to set up, for example, tv.
thanks phillips for making a great product and for allowing my wife to love watching tv with me again.
it took no time to set up my tv, cable box, audio, dvd and vcr.
you want to be able to feel and use the remote by touch and not necessarily look away from the tv.
in other words you don't need to aim it very precisely at your home theater components.
i tried programming it like it says in the manuel on 20 different tvs and it doesnt work
this remote is terrible, it wont work on 50% of the tv's and vcrs out there, dont buy it, looks great but wont program anything that is new, no cable boxes, no dvd/vcr combos.
having tried all the steps to set it up with her zenith television, it still wouldn't work.
his tv fernandes was also not available for the remote.
we were able to get it to work with the tv, but not with the cable box unfortunately.
it has worked for all of my tvs and other electronics.
sound home theater receiver and a sony 400 disc dvd changer.
it is very disappointing to have a $5000.00 sony grand vega hd tv and not get ktv features that the original tv remote provided.
i have an lg 42' plasma and none of the codes work for this tv
the brand-new thing will not control -any- functions of either of my viewsonic lcd tvs, rendering it pretty much useless.
when you press the power on/off button it powers the tv and satellite receiver on/off simultaneously.
