i can push one button on the remote and it turns my tv on, dish on, and stereo all to the settings i want.
control.it's so nice having the different activities programmed in so that when you want to watch tv you only have to hit one button.it's a very stylish looking remote that isn't bulky by any means.
also, the 'activities' feature is great because it lets you control your tv/receiver/dvd/vcr/whatever at the same time.
this thing is great i use it with my lighting control and for my blinds as well ass all of my home theater system.
what's great about it:?easy setup and to use what's not so great:?a little pricey for a remote "i purchased this remote to use with my home theater system and my xbox 360.
this is an awesome product it now controls all the electronics from tv to blu-ray products and this is a great buy on the product.
there is really not much i would change about this product and it is a must have for anyone whose xbox 360 is a central component of their home theater.
it's great as i use my 5.1 system for dvd's and 360 so i want the av receiver to control the volume for those, but for the wii and a vcr tape, i want the volume control to be on the tv.
it was still necessary to go to the television or use the tv remote to switch inputs to switch from tv or vcr to dvd.
i mean, come on, if you have a remote to watch tv you can probably see, and you don't need a noise to let you know it is charging.
purchased this product out of frustration with my home theater system and cable company's remote - did not have the codes.
just purchased a new tv and thought that it was about time i had a universal remote to control all my various components: tv, sony home theater, jvc vcr (we still use it to watch old home videos of
had about 4 remotes i had to toggle between to switch all the inputs on the tv and reciever all the time and it got tobe annoying..so i decided to buy this remote and consolidate everything into one.
say you want to watch dvd, you just program this as an activity on your remote, so when you press that one button it will turn on your dvd, tv - set the correct input for tv and turn on audio receiver
the remote would set the tv inputs to whatever it randomly wanted, but after and hour on the the phone with level 2 support, its working perfectly now.
it's one button to watch movies(it turns the dvd on, changes to the right tv input, turns the home theater on.) it another button to only watch tv and watch the dvd turn off, the theater system
if you operate with more than 1 remote to watch tv (cable or satellite), use your dvd, and listen to music (cd or radio), it's a must product.
this is a good product, i gave this to my mother in law, taught her to use it with an oder tv/vcr combo, cable box and a dvd player.
i have a simple magnavox dvd player, an at&t uverse (cisco) dvr and a tevion (aldi brand) television that up until now i could never find a remote control that would operate it completely.
my television remote was supposed to be a universal remote but it couldn't control the dvr.
this realy works i shut off a tv at the sports bar it worked!
i hate the sound of tvs left on in my house, or in restaurants, so i thought i'd give this product a try.
it would turn off all tvs in sight, even penetrate through glass.
but it seems there's no escape from tv in public places.
i gave this to my friend who now enjoys turning off televisions in businesses and restaurants and waiting lobbies while snickering under his breath and getting a great deal of pleasure out of it.
this one is simple enough to use...i control an ancient sharp vcr, a sony flatscreen tv, and a new philips dvd player without any problems.
entered the first code in the book for my tv and she fired right up.
.for example i press cabletv and it turns on my tv it turns on my home theater system and it turns on my cable box all on the right settings.the only disadvantage is that if for whatever reason it
i bought this remote to control my home theater setup, where most of my components are behind closed doors.
plus, the rf feature is very useful for guests and family members, as it can control complex multi-step home theater operations simply, without the remote having to be pointed in any particular
after the initial setup, i had to go back and "fine tune" it to control my home theater exactly like i wanted.
with that said, everything is working great with this remote, i can use it to control everything in my family room and in my home theater, with all my home theater equipment hidden.
this is the same exact remote that comes with the direct tv box.
i bought this remote because the receiver in my rv had an older style remote and would not work with my tv requiring me to do the volume with the tv remote.
it also controls my tv and dvd player well.
on the other hand, the rf feature of the rc64r is very useful, and it still controls my tv's volume, input and power using standard ir while controlling directv receiver with rf (and rf is married to
look at something else if you are looking to replace your direct tv remote.
the setup for my tv and components was fast.
i am not a professional installer, but i am very technically proficient and i set up my entire home theater by myself.
i bought this device because i had 2 directv receivers hooked up to the same tv and i had no other way to get them to work with ur mx-900.
i have two of these, the ir blaster alone nearly burns a hole in the wall :) i have it controlling in the home theatre a onkyo nr905 7.1 system, xbox 360, xbox (media centre), appletv, hd tv
to use it for a windows media center you should be aware that you gona need an additional ir blaster in order to set up your tvsignal in media center if you're using a set top box like a hd receiver.
my current remote turns on both my tv and my amp with one button...
i've built a home theater pc build on windows vista and have been looking for the perfect remote.
the other tv functions are also very useful.
i've got one central machine that controls the video feed to three seperate tvs throughout my house.
so your remote upstairs knows the tv is still on, even if you haven't been near it.
for example, say there is an activity for "watch cable" that turns on the tv when you start it, and turns off the tv when you go to another activity called "play cd".
we have had only one issue with it: after we shut off the system subsequent to watching a dvd, when we go to turn the system on for just regular tv viewing, the right video number does not come on.
is the cable box on?, is the tv set to hdmi 1?
also, i needed rf capabilities for my home theater.
used this unit on a 45k home theater to replace a niles intellicontrol.
