Before you spend $$ for this remote, make sure that you really need it.
I didin't realized how long this cord actually was.
So I decided, on a recommendation from a professional photographer-friend, to try the remote control.
It is about 2 feet long cord that plugs into the Sony Alpha with a button to activate the shutter.
the best solution i've found is to add tv & or receiver on macros to all other components.manual & support: the manual is just about adequate (it suffers primarily from layout flaws - like the need

Although the price is good for this RF Windows Media Center remote I can't recommend buying one.
Another great offering from keyspan.
First off, this remote was shipped quite rapidly.
The "Live TV" button on the remote does NOT cause Media Center to go to live TV on my system.
Keyspan claims that it is compatible with Ultimate but I have yet to believe it.
I dropped my review to 4 stars simply since the remote is a little bulky and not as small as I think they may have been able to make it.
It really works great as do all of the other Z-WAVE products I have purchased with the INTERMATIC logo on them.
I have a small network at home and uses 3 of these remotes.

we have had only one issue with it: after we shut off the system subsequent to watching a dvd, when we go to turn the system on for just regular tv viewing, the right video number does not come on.
set up is super smooth, get the manufacturer and model number, type it in during set up on your computer, and it is done.
i also didn't like that the power button was right below the channel down button - i often would turn the tv off by mistake when i just wanted to go back a channel!
the setup was straightforward and painless, and the remote was able to recognize tv's, vcr's and dvd players (a mix of 4 year old to brand new model electronics).

I bought one of these as I could not get a Nikon cable.
fine job - takes getting used to as it is sensitive, but after that...
I didn't have any trouble getting it plugged in as some have reported.
The remote control put me in the picture too and I was very happy with that!
Great tripod with remote controls for typical Sony Handycam-type operating functions (record start/stop, zoom, photo capture).
I bought this for videotaping my girls band concert.
I read a lot of ctiticism about the remote-function.
I had a tripod for an older Sony camcorder that controlled it, so after getting a newer Sony HD camcorder I needed a replacement.
As I researched this purchase the most common complaint is that it doesn't work in the bright light.
bought this remote because i play my music loud and needs a att button close by, the remote that comes with the head unit barely stays in 1 place, and the Cdsr100 was an ideal choice.
Controls all functions of my unit.
Doesn't work very well.

good service - product didn't work with my garage door system.
I have bought one of these before at a store and I have had it for at least 3 years.
I have used one of these every day for over 5 years.
The remote for my grandmother's garage door has been failing for a long time and I saw this item on clearance at Radio Shack so I decided to give it a try.
Having tried different brands of univeral remote controls, this one's the best.
