Cons: Couldn't find a way to program the green button for something else than MCE. I had to disable MCE to use MediaPortal otherwise they would conflict, but that is normal. Other Thoughts: I bought this control for the IR receiver which I use with a Harmony 550. My HTPC is built with MediaPortal on Windows 7 and everything is working perfectly with both, the Anyware and Harmony controls. from Newegg.com Pros: VMC compatable, Harmony has this specific remote in its database, easy setup. Price is great compared to the competition. Cons: Randomly blinking red light on IR receiver. Sometimes it blinks when you enter a command, but it seems to blink randomly even when you aren't entering commands. from Newegg.com Pros: It has a pretty cool look to it and works with Media Center out of the box. I don't like Media Center personally so I was pleased to find I could use it with XBMC (the best media center option, hands down) using a combination of the programs Event Ghost and IR Server Suite. Works with iTunes when it's in the foreground. Can use it to scroll through documents in word.2 IR sensor plugs. Cons: Mini IR sensor stopped working. from Newegg.com I have found the buttons on this to be quite stiff/hard to press, overall it doesn't have a great "feel" to it. I don't know if it is the IR receiver on my computer or the emitter on this remote, but I find that the signals are not consistently received/recognized by the computer, except at short distances. I am using the computer's built in IR receiver (an Acer Vista Home Premium machine). from Amazon.com Pros: it's cheap and it works, nothing fancy like learning, but it comes with 2 ir outputs which is nice if you want to control 2 your computer and 2 different boxes with the remote. Cons: well, it doesn't learn, but can't hardly count that at this price from Newegg.com I only tried it in Windows 7 RC, but I don't see why it won't work with anything else. The blaster works perfectly too, I can now control my Videotron STB with the remote. There is a second IR port on the receiver, so I might try to plug another blaster and make it learn the TV remote's codes to control the TV. Media center had to learn the remote before it could control the adapter. The small ir emitter had to be placed directly in front of the eye in the adapter.
