I have now had 3 ARRU449 remotes. I do not use them as hockey pucks. from Amazon.com I will give you example why I call this remote the next generation of remote controls. The Acoustic Research Smart Remote Control is Internet remote control without a PC. I have two TVs a Dell and an a Samsung. from Amazon.com i have spent a ton of money on all those fancy and expensive universal remotes but now for half the price or less this remote leaves them all in the dust. from Amazon.com the pros; its user friendly,lots of extras,hard buttons controls and no pc needed. from Amazon.com other thoughts: i dumped cable and get my hdtv over the air, so even though i could see what was on i needed to fire up my pc to look up what is on later. from Newegg.com in addition it allows you to access the internet for the tv programs in your area. from Amazon.com the guide and arrow buttons at the top seem more natural for me to want to use to control the tv's guide and arrows, not the ones on the remote. from Amazon.com setting up my tv took way more effort than it needed to be. from Amazon.com it makes me think of a self-licking ice cream cone, or a computer that dedicates the best part of it's memory to virus checking of itself. from Amazon.com the feature list is truly amazing for the price, but means nothing as the remote simply does not complete the simple tasks that are standard for most other universals. from Amazon.com
