I used to use the remote that came with my audio receiver to control my home theater and it worked. But it doesn't have number buttons on the front to access channels directly. The Harmony 880 illuminates when you pick it up, has convenient macro buttons for quick access and will shut off components that aren't no longer in use when you switch macros. This remote is just great and the refurbished Harmony 880 was an exceptionally good deal! from Amazon.com I bought this product to replace an old first-generation IRIQ remote that was becoming increasingly unreliable. What an improvement the 880 is!
