there is a second ir port on the receiver, so i might try to plug another blaster and make it learn the tv remote's codes to control the tv.

plus with it being ir, i have even programmed some unused buttons on my tv's factory remote to perform operations in xbmc.

other thoughts: i hate another remote that came with a tv tuner i bought and this is heads and shoulders above that since it can be programmed through event ghost unlike the other one.

i thought this remote had limited learning capability for tv power, volume, channel, and number keys.
