The worst is the location of the volume and mute controls on the remote: right in the lower right corner so you need two hands to use them. The volume increments were too large for my taste. If the volume wasn't quite high enough, one touch on the remote made the volume too loud. The angle over which the receiver can see the remote is said to be 30 degrees each side (as I recall) but must be less than that. from Crutchfield.com This is a great receiver for the money. My old Pioneer SX-50 was a good receiver for over 25 years, but it developed a short in it which would cost more to fix than this Onkyo cost brand new. My only cavil is with the remote. This Onkyo receiver replaced an old pre-HDTV Onkyo receiver that had a superior remote.
