My husband and I bought the 940 for a trip to New Mexico. We were miles away from cops and it picked up the signal. from Circuitcity.com I have owned Uniden, Cobra and Whistler radar detectors. By comparison, the BEL V940 is the best. from Circuitcity.com The Bell 940 worked much better than previous detectors that I have had. It did produce some false alarms but that was better than not getting alarm when it was reading true, as was do by previous purchases of detectors. from Circuitcity.com I understand I need to stop but I dont want to, anyway this radar has keep me out of atleast 4 maybe 5 tickets so far I go interstate ALOT this product has seen the cop at times 1/2 mile out or farther. It gives you enough time to slow down from around a 100mph without slaming on your brakes. Thats both radar and laser so if you have a extra 150 bucks and want a good radar get this one or another beltronics I would not waste anymore money on whistleror cobra. The only thing I would change is the cord I like the choice of coiled or straight cords so I can hide the cord and radar, I dont like little punks seeing it and even thinking about stealing it, but I made due with the coiled cord and stretchedit out under the dash. from Circuitcity.com I have a Kustom HR-4 K band gun. The Vector 940 picked up the signal at least 10 blocks away with city low x band setting. It also picks up Ka band very nicely with at least 5 blocks away with city mode setting (from local police patrol car). from Circuitcity.com I finally decided to drop the coingage on the 940 and I have no regrets.
