i don't recommend the training level (it's boring and timed), it's a lot easier just to go into a mission and learn the controls by trial and error.

at first it took awhile to get used to, even with training modes to guide you in.

after about a 30 minute learning period with syphon filter, i was already smashing the time records in training mode.

weapons and tools at your disposal, sf:dm has some separate training missions to teach you the basics of the controls and movement and how to use your tools and weapons before you get into the story.

there are lots of mini-games and training games as well as tournaments to enter.

strengths: sweet graphics, fun arcadish tennis gameplay, easy controls, challenging ai weaknesses: laggy multiplayer over internet and ad hoc, not enough characters, training becomes repetitive

if you are new it starts out with some training missions to get you started.

after checking out your new digs, you'll head into the village to meet people, who will politely direct you to the hunter training academy without so much as a word about your embarrassing defeat.
