While this game won't be for everyone, those who do like it will love it. However, be aware that Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is actually the same as this game, plus an assortment of extras like new monsters and new features. Unless the difference in price is extremely compelling to you, you'd do better buying Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
There's no reason why you shouldn't give this game a glance. Fans of rpgs that incorporates monster hunting for loots will devour this awesome franchise and with those loots you can make armors, weapons and other stat boosters to take on bigger, badder monsters that kicked your sorry behind before. And hunting your worst nightmare never looked this good, sure the game starts slow just like any of its kind (aren't they ever?) But if you give few hours it demands, you will see the game for what it is; addicting+awesome=one gigantic rpg ride!
This game follows a definite line of great games. We only see a few of them such as Monster Hunter for PS2, Monster Hunter Freedom, and then Monster Hunter Freedom 2, with Unite on its way. Capcom released that the day Monster Hunter Freedom 2G was released in Japan production for all of Japan dropped 47% that day.
could call it, but I was too in awe to care. Now I was searching for something PSO-like; killing monsters and all.. In
Well, let me say this is a great PSP game, but it is NOT easy. You will get killed quite a bit and it can be discouraging. but when you finally figure out the right strategy to take out a monster, it's very satisfying. The game has very deep customization of character, armor, etc.
All in all this is by far one of(if not the) the best games for the PSP. You also get a feeling of accomplishment after playing for a while, since you make all of your weapons and gear by defeating monsters and using their parts to craft with. If you like the action RPG type of game then this is a must for you.
This was the first game I tried for the Monster Hunter series, after playing this I back tracked and tried the first one, and I've also tried the Japanese counter-parts. This game offers hours upon hours of entertainment, there can be somewhat of a intermediate learning curve at first, but once you get the hang of the camera controls, and gathering, and hunting, it becomes second nature.
This is the latest release in the Monster Hunter series. This release keeps the original idea and gameplay, while adding a lot of new content.
I bought this game because a buddy of mine played it all the time. and he got stuck so told me to get it and we can link our PSP's together and play as a team. Just like 2 player Co-op. Once we did that the game became even more fun.
I'll start out by saying, if you are easily frustrated...do not play this game, you will wind up breaking your psp and angry the rest of the day. Yes the game is easy in most areas once you learn how or what the monsters do...... But when you get to the G level quests it really doesn't matter how well you know what they will do, it really matters on skill and patience, for one hit can kill you.
