It certainly is not a top tier launch from AMD, and you won't see it trumpeted on the AMD site at launch. It is likely that it will make more noise in the emerging markets than in the US, but for the enthusiast it is a potential overclocking gem, and a good CPU for a budget build for relatives or friends that don't need cutting edge Athlon 64 power, and won't benefit in the near future with 64 bit apps.
