Best AMD Processors for Low Power

i have had three systems in the past with amd processors and this one is best of the lot due to the power and low cost.

amd in general and this processor in particular gives you that.

basic amd heatsink and it runs at 38 running tf2 cons: no problems

i only use my computer for basic internet and word processing, but i can tell a huge difference from the 1.8 ghz amd duron processor i was using.

it would be lower if i could use the amd fan i am sure.

kudos to amd for this little feat of electronic engineering.

if you are looking for low power grab the 4850e, it's about the same and uses 20 less watts.amd's stock fan is a lot easier to install than the intel pushpin deal.

if you plan to upgrade from an amd processor in the 4000-5000 range, and you want a serious improvement, i recommend biting the bullet and getting something higher.

i had a athlon 64 3500+ before and it was a single core.

other thoughts: why would amd make a cpu that runs at 1066 but will not have a memory controll that supports 1066?

runs very cool in my htpc with a ninja mini (with a 5 volt fan) it's a cheap upgrade from my 65w 3800+ x2 chip.

other thoughts: to those wondering why it doesn't come with a heatsink, amd's black edition processors do not come with heatsinks.
