the new lexmark ($100) was fast, printed beautifully, and was quiet, but it went through ink cartridges like crazy, so i decided to toss it and try the canon.

i hear the cartridges get used up fast and can't be refilled but since i just got it and don't use it every day, it shouldn't be much of an issue.
