I calibrate my monitor every two weeks and this printer gives me the colors see on the monitor (I have not calibrated the printer.) Most of my printing is for fine art photography and at a 11" by 14" inch size.

The prints were the same with just about any type of paper HP has a lot of different types of paper and I didn't notice much between there papers and the B&W left much to be desired but I got the variety pack and I printed on there Glossy Art Paper boy the colors just popped and I used the Photoshop color profile.

One problem that I haven't seen mentioned is that this printer is pretty lame when it comes to printing graphics, and that's not just photos but Excel charts and clip art, anything with gradients.

Pixma MP620 produced the lowest fidelity copy of two other printers I tested (Epson Artisan 700 and HP C6280) and for a reason: MP620 is really a 4-color printing (the "5th cartridge" is pigment black, which is supposed to be better for B/W printing)
