I chose this printer on the reviews of others, and I was not disappointed.
I read all the reviews telling me how easy the setup process was but I was still nervous.
But because of the reviews I decided to get it and everyone was right it is a really good printer.
From all the printer reviews I've read and due to the problems I've had, its quite obvious that HP no longer produces a good, reliable printer.
First, thanks to all of those who submitted thorough reviews about this printer--I knew that I (the antithesis of a computer/wireless guru-geek) would have several previous reviews to refer to if I had problems with set-up.
Other people's reviews helped me decide on this printer.
At this this point there have been 343 reviews for the Brother HL-2170W and most have been laudatory.

Unlike some of the reviews, I found it super simple to set-up (I use it on wireless LAN) and use.
Other Thoughts: I read online reviews before purchasing this unit and was concerned about feeding envelopes through the MP tray, but I never imagined that typical 20 weight paper would not work either.
Other Thoughts: I have read some of the other reviews and wonder if they purchased the same system as I did?
I purchased based on the other reviews, and so far this thing has given me the best bang for my buck out of any MFC I have owned or heard about.
The reviews that talk about it taking a while to print out the first page, after a warm up, are true.

I appreciate all the reviews that I read before buying this product, so I feel responsible to share my own experience now that I've owned the MX850 for 9 months.
This time when shopping for a new printer I felt the HP printers were built kind of flimsy, so I decided to go with Canon after reading reviews.
I tend to over research whatever I buy but the price, reviews, and specs for the MX850 were generally pretty good.
I've duplicated this review in the other site location which has over 200 reviews.
Went with MX850 because of excellent past reviews, I did not need wireless, and it has bigger ink cartridges than the MX860 (hopefully, less ink usage).
I chose this product based on the positive reviews at Amazon and I am very happy with the choice.
Never happy with the Epson, we looked at reviews and other brands before deciding on the MX850.

Read in some reviews that printing items like envelopes were a problem but, I can't understand why anyone had problems with this, they printed fine for me.
Because of reviews I was hoping this would be a cheap, steady laser printer for a low to medium volume office.
I will comment on some of the other reviews.
I did a fair amount of research, including consumer reports and most reviews were positive (the only negatives were about ink usage).
Canon Pixma MP520 Photo All-On-One Inkjet Printer (2178B002) I read the great reviews on this printer and was convinced, this is a winner.
I read the reviews before purchasing this product and they were all positive and so it was just as expected, it has all the features I wanted and was easy to use.

After reading the Canon web site and other reviews, I thought it would be wireless since Bluetooth was mentioned.

I read professional reviews prior to buying it that it was slow but had no idea - ppm specs don't tell the whole story.
I looked at so many models and read all the reviews.
After having read some of the reviews on here, i've observed a few things.

I read lots of reviews and like many others settled on the MP-970 because of all the good reviews.
All the PC mags gave this Canon great reviews, however, it seems to have severe problems with its drivers interfacing with Windows XP in a network setting.
I chose this Canon Pixma because it had great reviews and was such a great deal (sale price of about $239 on Amazon with a $100 rebate from Canon).
There are some negative reviews for this printer stating poor photo print quality or subpar text.
I have read some reviews (not on this website) that do not give fair ratings for this great little printer.
So I purchsed the 470 although I had seen some reviews claiming the print quality was not as good as the 460.

After all the wonderful reviews, I felt confident on buying this printer.

The page curling that was mentioned in other reviews was also an issue.
