This product will not scan older 35mm slides. The 35mm slides that were used in the 60's and early 70's have a picture area of 37mm X 37mm even though the slides will fit in the slide holder. It would of been nice to know it would not scan all 35mm slides otherwise I would not of bought it. from Crutchfield.com Got this printer 2 weeks back. Still haven't tested everything, but did scan some old photos and printed some digital prints on 6x4 glossy. The photos are looking awesome and are quite comparable to prints from the photo labs. The print speed is unbelievable, and the ink drys real quick. I used to get my prints from wolf camera, but now, I can get the same quality at home. I still haven't tried scanning in negatives, which is part of the reason why I went for this model. If you don't need the feature to scan negatives and slides, you could save some money and go with the MP600 instead. I am yet to try printing on matte. The scans a looking real good as well. The photo printing software that comes with the printer takes the guessing out of printing and makes it a simple 3 step process quite like the labs. It does have a pic bridge link to print directly from your camera, but I usually edit my photos in ps before printing, but its a nice feature to have to get some quick prints. It also does a good job of copying. My only caveat is with printing documents. The prints are good, don't get me wrong here, but they are not sharp. But since this is primarily a photo printer, I don't have any complains. Overall, I am quite satisfied with this printer. from Buy.com I absolutely love this multi-function machine. It not only prints in brilliant color, it scans photos and 35mm film. I've just gone through all of my old 35 mm photos and have scanned the negatives into my computer. I can now sort and label all of my photos or print them if I want to. The quality and speed of the printer is tremendous. Also, with the bundled software it is very easy to print many different types of photos (8 x 10, 5 x 7, or wallet size) with one easy program. from Crutchfield.com I received this printer as a Christmas present and it works extremely well. It prints very fast and has a slough of options and settings to adjust photos with or with out a computer. It comes with a built in memory card reader so most popular forms of memory storage devices can be plugged into the printer. You can scan slides and flim negatives too. I think my favorite option of this printer is that you can set photo paper into a cassette under the printer as well as behind for printing from two different types of medium.
