Before I tell you why I liked the Samsung ML-1630, let me say that I initially tried a Brother HL-2170w. from Amazon.com Pros: Unlike a few lasers I've previously owned that looked & sounded like meat grinders, this one is cool & quiet. Cons: As with many of the lasers, manufacturers don't give you a lot of toner in the cartridges. from Newegg.com Pros: Best-looking B&W laser printer with lowest profile, touch-screen type controls and quietest operation of any laser i've owned. Cons: Toner cartridge has usual low yield but found solution. from Newegg.com Pros: Looks elegant, very quiet, relatively fast, slim design, solidly built. Cons: No USB 2.0 cable included The Bottom Line: If you just need a printer to print text documents and mapquest maps, and want to upgrade from an inkjet, this sexy laser printer is for you.
