What's great about it:?when you first get it, pictures are great, What's not so great:?color of prints, noise, kodak service "This is the first time I purchased a printer other than a Hewlett-Packard printer. Kodak has been absent from the consumer printer market for quite some time. It was a good price and the case looked nice. from Bestbuy.com ESP3 won't print at all. Paper light is hard on;no jam, paper is properly loaded in the poorly designed feed tray. from Amazon.com Set up the printer with no trouble but quickly discovered I could not change colour settings and the quality is @!@*! I refuse to use Kodak papers and reading the reviews here I can see there is no point in persevering. The one scan I did was completely useless and hopelessly streaky with little possibility to improve matters. from Amazon.com the printheads are so delicate they must be replaced often. I have had mine a year and have replaced it at least 3 times. Each time, Kodak sent me one free, but I had over a week of downtime waiting. Their customer service is terrible, half the time they hear your question, and then email you the "fix" and what they email you is either something you've already tried or something totally unrelated and you have to start the process all over again. from Amazon.com All 14 pages were 100% black ink but they were printed one sheet at a time and the printer was turned off each time after printing. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER. I don't know any other way to convey my distaste for Kodak other than they should pray to whatever higher power they believe in that a class action suit doesn't change the ownership structure of Kodak. from Amazon.com The images printed on KODAK paper are excellent, but if you use any other brand or even regular copy paper, the quality is horrible! The add says "Intelligent paper sensor automatically detects Kodak paper and adjusts print settings for optimized output". from Amazon.com As for printouts from this machine I wasn't expecting anything like my Photo Epson was giving me, but for the price of the machine, as well as the cost of the inks I have no complaints. I proof some of my pictures I take, and it works perfect for this and one thing I found out is the better the shot the better the print as with any printer. The paper has a lot to do with what your output will be as well, and Kodak as any other brand of printer also requires there paper to give you the best output. The prints are not half bad considering the cost of the printer and much are keepers! from Amazon.com It uses less ink than the Canon, HP, and Epson printers that I've had before. Best of all the ink is as cheap as you will ever find. All these people who are whining about having to use Kodak photo paper and how expensive the paper is don't have a clue. I just picked up a combo pack of 135 premium 4x6 sheets along with a color ink cartridge for $19.99. from Amazon.com
