Pros: good quality Cons: paper tray would not load, DOA Other Thoughts: not a bad printer, paper tray was defective, out of box.samsung had good support, just could not get it. newegg was great, allowing me to return it from Newegg.com The printer stopped working 2 months after the one year warranty. The LCD goes dim and light and it won't get out of the warm up state. Called Samsung and the person on the phone had me do a lot of turn it on and turn it off type things until he finally gave up and told me it was not their problem since it was past the warranty period. He stated that even if it had been 1 year and 1 day when it broke that they would not stand behind their product. from Amazon.com Pros: Built in networking, duplexing (works fine for me). The CLP-610ND supports PCL5 & 6 which are pretty much open standards. Ubuntu had no problem finding the printer, picking a driver and providing all the features including duplex and 3 print quality settings. If you have a less recent Linux version then it may be detected as the CLP-610 (ie no duplex) but you can download a PPD from LinuxPrinting.org which will give all the functionality. from Amazon.com I bought my printer 10/08 to replace an Okidata that was so annoyingly noisy. We solved this by downloading the latest drivers from Samsung; configuration was straightforward and easy.
