Summary: I bought this printer after having good luck with another Brother printer. I got essentially the same features in the MFC 5460CN as in my previous MFC 3360C, but the flat-bed scanner of the 5460 allowed me to get rid of my stand-alone scanner and free-up some desk space. from Mwave.com Summary: The fact that I am far from PC pro,and new to Vista OS,I needed help getting printer working after downloading 69Mb program [3times]from Brothers. I feel it was a convoluted process that should be easier, not sure if it is a vista os or Brothers problem, not my problem from Mwave.com great copier and fax. Scan and save to file couldn't be any easier. This is my second Brother all in one. I had the mfc 420cn for several years without any problems. from Newegg.com Removing the 'software package' and re-installing the printer using native Windows printer setup and manually 'pointing' at the printer diriver fixes the problem. Funky software performance drops a 4 or 5 star machine down to 3. Worst rating that I've given a Brother device. from Newegg.com I definitely got my money's worth but I also got lots of aggravation with paper jams. This machine seems to use a disproportionate amount of ink. I'm going to get another Brother the MFC 465cn which received much higher reviews without any complaints about paper jams and ink. from Amazon.com I had setup the network withing like 5 min, and all my computers could print +receive the scan pictures. Overall is pretty handy printer. Fast Printer compared to my old printer which took forever to warm up and then made a lot of noise printing..this one is pretty quiet and fast as it does not wake up my brother when it prints.. Also i tested receiving and sending fax, the quality of the fax is readable Cons: Then only thing that i experienced with this printer is that it got a paper jam once, i removed the back tray and removed it, the printer still would not print, i had to restart the printer for it to work correctly Other Thoughts: I printed about 20+pages and i can already see a decline in the black color, i am not sure if its supposed be like that. from Newegg.com Either way, its a very good printer and much better than the 560cn I had before this one. It is quick to start printing and the color is very good. I needed this multi-function printer for the wired ethernet.
