After about 15 minutes of being idle, it goes into sleep mode and the little green light comes on letting me know it's ready for action. Warmup time is about 6 seconds (much quicker than my old hp inkjet). I've read that some laser printers will suck all of the power out of a circuit (dimming lights, etc) and this one is plugged in with all of my entertainment system and I have no problems with it. I've only had it a week, so may need to write more later. from Amazon.com I learned about this printer from the good reviews on [...], and although it had no reviews (yet) on amazon I decided to give it a shot. I purchased through Price Pros (shipping was much cheaper than others). from Amazon.com Pros: Fast, good picture quality Cons: Came with a bad black toner cartridge, put spots all over the page and had poor print quality for black only. Had to pay $35 to ship the entire printer back to Newegg. Product is so new, that replacement toner cartridges are not available except for special order direct from Xerox. from Newegg.com Pros: Quick, crisp color am very pleased with this printer. Being in graphic design field I was looking for something that would be accurate to original colors. from Newegg.com Pros: This printer is very reliable. Xerox technical support has been courteous, professional, and helpful so far.
