in printer properties for your printer (mine is the samsung) goto the ports tab and look for something like, "lpt:ps56ea-1", verify or check the box next to it to make sure that windows is not trying

i ran into small obstacles on installation; had to assign a static ip, and duplication of the custom lpt port to each pc wasn't necessarily intuitive.
