you do have to have your printer driver installed on each machine; vista had it available but, i had to update the driver database on xp.

the big draw for me is that it has 4 usb ports on it so you can hook up at least 4 devices to it and it has a data bridge so that i don't have to go buy a wireless adapter for my desktop which is not
