Best USB Print Servers for Ethernet

while i couldn't get this product working with my specific printer, i do not blame it, since it is the third brand print server i have tried with same printer.

i used this product in conjunction with our small office netwrok, and it works perfectly fine from every computer in the office.

so i went out and got this print server mainly b/c it used 802.11g and wpa-psk, the same as my home network.

i found out i also needed to be more than just a "home user".

after many hours of frustration and time on hold with linksys, i was informed that this print server does not work with multi-function printers (printer/copier/scanner/fax).

after fighting what i thought were networking issues, linksys told me that they don't support multifunctional printers.

after speaking with 2 linksys technicians, and several hours of troubleshooting, i was told that this printserver is not compatible with "all-in-one" printers.

the install was easy and well documented, sometimes the unit needs to be powered down to wake it up, otherwise it is a good little server.

use any other selection then that, then unplug the printer while it is on and connected to the server, plug it back in and see how it works.

this printer has parallel and usb and both work.(usb to the print server and parallel to my desktop)my router is wireless and my wireless laptop prints to it very fast.

but it is a great little print server...

i wanted to be able to put my printer on the home network so i could share it between a laptop and desktop computer.

the setup with windows xp is a little weird, but the installation guide talks you through it step by step.

i purchased this mainly because i wanted the other computers on our home network to be be able to print if my laptop(configured as the print server) was turned off, or i was away on business.

i have 4 computers networked to this print server and it works great.

i was very very sceptical about the product after reading the user reviews and with prior experience with linksys print servers.

after setup, the printer would work if the print server was connected to the router with an ethernet cable, but it would not connect to the router wirelessly.

setting up the linksys wps54g on my wireless network was so easy and it was even easier adding my other computers once the inital print server was setup.
