We have a mixed network of Vista Business and XP Home machines, so printer sharing from a PC really doesn't work well. We got this one to replace a Netgear that died for no seemingly good reason. from Buy.com Once we got accustomed to the IOGear's slower reaction time to Windows applications compared to when the printer was shared on a P2P network, then everything was fine. No more connectivity issues, and the days of leaving a computer powered up to host the shared printer are long gone. from Buy.com Faq 297 is unhelpful, and upon calling tech support, it was the rudest to date. Should've went with my instinct and NOT bought this. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry to hear that the print server didn't work with your MFP. This product does work with the printer function of MFP. from Newegg.com Pros: None, because it kept dying before I could get it to function properly Cons: Just like most of the other comments, this product refuses to work most of the time. Standard install onto an XP machine with it connected to a standard router, this worthless junk "can't find any print servers" 9 out of 10 times. Oh and when it finally does find it, guess what? from Newegg.com Pros: Could be used as a doorstop Cons: This 2009. Would you expect compatibility with Vista 32? from Newegg.com Pros: Very small and easy to configure. I have a Samsung color laser printer and did not have any compatibility issues. from Newegg.com Cons: Software included was not really ready for Vista 64 and error'ed during the install. The install post the unknown error, was ok. Tried to get it to work with a Konica Minolta 2400W color laser. It would not work per IOGear instructions. from Newegg.com Pros: It works and it works well, haven't been able to test it thoroughly but so far its printed a couple documuments with no problems. It small, out of the way and does the job. from Newegg.com Cons: I bought 2 of these and set them up in a network for a client with no issues at all. As soon as you restart the printer, it will never work with that printer again. I've tried this on an HP Laserjet 1020, 1015, and 1018 with no luck.
