Pros: It was the price that influenced my decision to replace my dead Linksys print server. After looking at the Trendnets features nothing came close for a similar price. The Trendnet is a simple unit that should sufficiently serve the needs of a small home network. from Newegg.com Pros: My home network is 3 hard wired PC's and 2 notebook computers, all using either Windows XP home or Pro. I bought this server to replace a refurbished Linksys WPS54G wireless print server that I purchased in January. I was initially attracted to the Trendnet by the pric I looked at reviews, prices and ratings. from Newegg.com Pros: Does provide wireless printing, small size Cons: Puts out a lot of heat. Setup was a royal pain, especially with a cheap HP P1005 printer. from Newegg.com Pros: small, lightweight, easily configured to WEP wireless config (through wired Cons: usb would not initialize on the device. Other Thoughts: I tried 4 different printers (2 multifunction, 2 regular usb printers) on this device, could not get any one of them to work. from Newegg.com Pros: Allows me to have a shared printer without leaving the computer on or running more LAN cables. Exactly what a wireless print server is supposed to do. I never bothered using their software to set up the clients I just used TCP/IP printing direct from windows, less hassle that way. from Newegg.com I've spent 2 hours on the phone with Tech support only to have them tell me that my new HP Laser P1006 will not work with this device. I also tried to install it with a Lexmark Z645; it will not support that printer either! Trendnet does not seem to have an "approved printers" list either, so who knows! from Amazon.com Pros: This is an update to my previous review Cons: Seems to lose wireless connection after a few hours. corrected that by sending a "keep alive" packet to the device every hour. from Newegg.com Pros: Great Jet Direct emulation. I can print to it directly from my linux PC's instead of setting up a printer share on a Windows computer like I was forced to with my old Linksys printserver. Cons: none so far, but it's only been a daycould not really use firfox on ubuntu linux to configure it via the web interface for some reason. from Newegg.com Pros: Connection to printer works in about 15 seconds. We are connecting to a Plotter...it all depends on the print job. Setup with CD program works like a breeze...connection via Wireless....see cons. Cons: Unusual TCP/IP behavior on its wireless side Other Thoughts: To those whose needs were met by this device--more power to you.
