I used this JetDirect external print server to replace a Linksys print server that was picking up a lot of garbage from other radio devices nearby. The Linksys was cheaper, but the HP works flawlessly. from Amazon.com For the Mac, I just loaded the printer's software (HP Photosmart B8850 in my case) and the printer was located automatically by the OS. However, for a new printer install on the PC, I did have a slight problem. The instructions for the JetDirect said to first run the installation software for the JetDirect before installing the printer software. Unfortunately, when I got to the point where I needed to install the printer drivers, I could not eject the CD (Windows locked the drive) and I had only one CD drive (laptop). from Amazon.com I used this JetDirect external print server to replace a Linksys print server that was picking up a lot of garbage from other radio devices nearby. Supports communications protocols I didn't even imagine existed. Had it operational in 10 minutes, and was able to configure it to look just like the D-Link 1260 that I was only too glad to get rid of, so nobody even had to change their printer drivers! Can't think of any design problems whatsoever. from Newegg.com Pros: This HP print server works "perfectly" and very easy to set up.
