That detail is poorly emphasized on this manufacturers product. While the advertising states "transforms virtually any standalone USB or Parallel network printer", it reads as though both a standalone USB or Parallel network printer can use this device. from Buy.com This print server sucks at too may levels. 1. from Buy.com This little print server is AWESOME!! Easy to set up, configure; it simply works GREAT!!! from Buy.com Quickly connected an HP LaserJet 3050 (multifunction) and Canon IP6000D color photo printer. Both work fine, although I do not get printer status reported, which - according to TrendNet Website - is not supported even though bi-directional communication is supported. from Amazon.com I bought this Trendnet print server for use with an old HP LaserJet 5L that hooks up with a parallel port, along with an HP OfficeJet 5610 all-in-one printer that connects via USB.
