A couple of days later I get a call that the printer wasn't working. after troubleshooting, I discovered the router didn't recognize the printserver. after a reboot of the linksys all was good. This happend a good 10 more times before I took the time and researched and found that alot of people were having issues with the linksys dropping off the network. from Circuitcity.com However, the print server would not respond. Re-powering it seemed to only work sporadically; it now prints one page and then quites half way through that page and won't print anything else. LinkSYS tech support was useless. I would NOT recommend this print server. from Newegg.com Pros: I purchase this PSUS4 to replace one that I purchased several years ago. My first PSUS4 worked great until it recently started crashing my LAN. from Newegg.com Doesn't work with multi-function printers, scanners or as a network storage hub =( yeah it was a long shot... but I tried with an Eagle Consus external storage drive. Linksys support stinks... The power plugs into the side but the cable angles back... from Newegg.com Transfers files at 100mb with no problem. Cons: Make sure you do not have a all in one printer. I was on the phone with linksys for 2 hours. After the guy walked me through 4 different options he asked me if the printer was an all in one. from Newegg.com Hello, Yes, this works great. Setup with MacOS printer setup utility, I ended up with name, 192.168.15.78 , and location, Location Unknown. Setup with windows XP pro and Vista, I don't remember as I'm not a windows guy, but the linksys site tells you how. To work smooth with my linksys router, I had to call linksys and find the tech sheets on their website to assign the print server a static IP address. from Amazon.com Pros: NONE Cons: This unit failed right out of the box. I RMA's it to Linksys and they sent me a refurb unit which also failed right out of the box. Linksys customer support and tech department is based out of a foreign country and they have NO knowledge of networking from Newegg.com Bad: I found out the hard way that this print server will not allow full functionality of a multi-function printer, specifically; it will not allow scanning. This can be worked around by unplugging the usb to the print server and connecting it directly to a computer. But the most annoying aspect of all this is that this little "limitation" is not mentioned anywhere in the setup manual or in information that I could find on the linksys website. Oh well, live and learn. from Amazon.com Pros: Works ok with some newer or higher end printers. Cons: Linksys' claim that it works with most printers is false.
