Shopped for several days on the Internet and finally relied upon Consumer Reports to help me find the best portable DVD player for my granddaughter. Agree with Consumer Reports: Mintek DOES stand close to the top of the list for quality! The unit didn't come with an owner's manual, just one sheet of information about the battery.
