We have had for 9 months and it has worked good up until now. We have not even used the player that much and now there is a loose connection somehwere between the screen and the player. It has been taken well care of and has not been exposed to anything harmful whatsoever. from Amazon.com The buttons are well labeled on the player. The DVD's speakers are not very loud; thus, it is helpful to use a headset. The screen is not powerful under the sun, but I haven't seen any electronics that has a powerful screen under this particular condition. I use the player to connect to the TV sometimes, and the effort to connect the player to the TV is minimal. from Amazon.com * Even the non-widescreen DVDs look fine in widescreen mode - people dont seem to look shorter/fatter. Cons: * Color rendition is not very good - skin tones are on the cooler side, I prefer warmer tones. * Screen brightness cannot be adjusted. * The dedicated button for 16:9/4:3 doesnt seem to do anything. from Newegg.com I had this unit for a day before I had a problem with it, but having solved the problem that first time, it has not recurred and I'm pleased with the DVD player now. Very nice!Cons: 1 dead pixel from Newegg.com Comments: If it weren't for a couple of issues related to the fact that it's a cheap DVD player I would be giving this player 5 eggs. Mine came with a small defect on the screen that seems to of been caught at the factory, but passed on anyways, because the protectant plastic mask was pulled down right by the area affected. I seem to have trouble playing some dvdr's. from Newegg.com
