Wide screen, audio/video in/out, chargeable battery and it plays a variety of formats including VCD, but the volume could be louder though. I've never heard of the Astar before but while doing my online search for an affordable Portable DVD Player I came across them...the price was fitting for my budget and not only that---the product description was pretty good. from Amazon.com I bought this a few weeks ago to see what you get for a DVD player at this very low price. I have been thrilled with it. I can play all my DVDs from North America (NTSC) and Europe (PAL) and even my MP3 files on CD. from Amazon.com I bought this DVD player at a local grocery store with the idea that it was probably a $50 machine with all the little gadgets like the case and A/V cables plus a remote control, at $89 it was a nice complete set up.
