It's kind of arcade and sim like, similar to project gotham racing... which is my favorite racing series. Still, Grid ranks up there. There is an overall theme of buying different types of race cars, having a team and competing in the US, Europe and Japan. Though you'll find a lot of drifting challenges in the Japan races, the remainder are more oriented toward road racing (except for the demolition derbys). Before I do that I need to admit that this was one of the funnest racing games I've played through, and I've bought most that have come out for the PS3.
