the sidequests dont even start until youre about 95% through the game and finally acquire the airship.

it also carries the ffvii thing of when you get the airship, you can do what you wish before you fight the big boss.

with this game you have to go in a straight line and when you finally do get an airship, you can't even fly around and land it anywhere you please.

there is some development necessary, but it's minimal.only negative; you don't get to control the inevitable airship until very late in the game.

like every final fantasy, you do eventually get control of an airship, though it would have been nice if this occured sooner in the game.

by the time you actually get the airship (and can really start exploring) you are just about ready for the final showdown.

i want a story, music, a big world, an airship, love, hate, death, going to space, going under-water, the golden saucer, 3 discs...this could go on for a long time.

there are many vehicles that can be acquired or rented to make your way across said map, including cars, trains, boats, and the ever-present airship.
