My last cordless phone was a Vtech 2.4 ghz and it lasted more than 8 yrs with absolutely no problems. This phone keeps dropping calls. Spoke with Panasonic and they told me it was b/c of my DSL, but I was using the DSL filter as recommended. Changed the DSL filter, and calls were still dropped. from Amazon.com The phones were very easy to install and the instruction were simple to understand. I have always had Panasonic phones because they stand up to wear and tear, but this phone beats them all out. A considerable problem is the fact that if the ringer has been turned off (for various reasons) & the handset is lying face down, there is absolutely nothing that alerts me a call is coming in. Our other panasonic phones had a little ring around the antenna that would light up when a call came in and the light was visible from any angle. I am pleased with this phone and this seller. from Amazon.com I am an avid Uniden fan (I even ran over my last one and it was all crushed up, but still worked!), but all of the new Unidens have such small buttons that are so close together and I was tired of misdialing so much. This Panasonic has easier keypad numbers to dial from. Now, I was not a Panasonic fan after my mom bought two different Panasonics years ago and they didn't work well. from Amazon.com
