I had to replace my phone and also needed a new handset. This system was ideal. It was easy to set up, the display is large and easy to read and I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. from Qvc.com I purposely looked for a corded / cordless phone that was also wall mountable. I live in an older home and have the big ole'wall phone jack. When my old phone died I looked at what QVC and others had to offer and narrowed my decision to this AT&T phone. The wall mounting design is first rate. from Qvc.com I am coming from the old e9508 model which bit the dust after taking about a gallon of water inside the base unit. This phone come with a lot of new features, but in AT&T's haste to cheapen the phone (7 less buttons then the e9508) they left out one stupidly important feature. If someone leaves a message have something "BLINK". from Amazon.com No easy way to add numbers to the directory from the cordless unit I bought this style of phone, instead of an all cordless system, because I wanted to be able to make and receive calls when the power goes out.
