While I only gave this product three stars, that doesn't mean that it's not good enough for the majority of people looking for an expandable cordless phone system. Not only does this phone look elegant but it is also lightweight, easy to handle and the big keys are a plus. Now regarding the comments about the volume, my mom, who is 64 years old and has hearing problems, uses it to talk to her friends all the time and has reported no problems with it, not sure under what circumstances the people complaining about the volume here are using it, but I can tell you my house is very active, to say the least, with an 11 year old boy and a dog, and no problems regarding volume as of today. from Amazon.com I am a gadget lover.
