I was skeptical at first, but the fountain was a hit with my rather finicky cat. I would recommend a fountain to anyone with cats -- my cat drinks probably four times what he used to, and I'm so happy about that because the vet and I were worried about his hydration and also potential bladder problems. from Amazon.com I purchased this product in March of 2006 especially for my kitty Josef. He had been diagnosed with renal disease at the early age of four years. He absolutely loved this fountain and the trickling stream of water. When emailed they got back to me multiple times throughout the day. I was not noticing a flow control on the large model. This unit comes with a filter, but the filter is pointless, because it comes after the pump in the order of flow. In addition, the water flow isn't strong enough to truly circulate the water and clean it so I have to stir it towards the filter to clear the particles.
