my only suggestion, were i to be asked by a company rep, would be to consider an adapter that allows for the radio to be used via a 12 volt cig lighter outlet.

interestingly, eton-grundig is a "shortwave company" that does not market the fr-200 as a "shortwave radio"...it merely "includes" that feature.
