Sony XDR-S3HD HD Radio from Amazon.com Actually, very good. Great styling and as it is a Sony, well made. I have another brand that is also very good. from Amazon.com The radio was $25 less than list, plus free shipping. But what I received was a repackaged radio (with a noticeable ding on the top), none of the usual careful Sony packaging inside the box, all the separate parts rewrapped sloppily, AND NO INSTRUCTION BOOK nor any of the usual unpacking warnings and explanations. The radio seems fine and sounds fine. from Amazon.com Even at the price of $100 at the Sony outlet store, I'm returning it tomorrow. First of all, the power block is huge, heavy and emits a slight buzzing sound. from Amazon.com It works for both AM and FM. My reception is good, although the enclosed antennas work fine too. In summary, I am disappointed at the purchase of this model. Sony's product is actually descending in its quality in recent years, compared with those manufactured in the 1990s. Incidentally, the Sony ICF-SW7600GR (a world band radio with SW) also has a generic problem of poor quality volume dial, another example of poor component ruins the whole unit. from Amazon.com I should learn that SONY is a shell of its former self and the quality is not there.
