i would have given this radio 5 stars if it weren't for the poorly designed, clunky belt clip, along with the low end earbud headphones.
but when i plug in my headphones(my own, not the ones they supplied) it sounded so flat and hollow.
i just have two reservations: the included headphone's ear plug and sound quality is lower than average; i am not sure whether it will receive digital tv sound signal when that broadcase becomes
i like using the speaker when i am listening to the radio while i do my chores, much less hassle than headphone cords getting in the way.
the tone of the dt 210 was extraordinarily good, especially when i substituted the headphones from my discarded panasonic radio for the earbuds that came with the dt210.
i can't use headphones and the speaker in this radio is amazing.
also, it easily drives the inefficient etymotics as loudly as you could wish, no headphone amp required.
its very light and i can wear it around my neck collar and listen to it with out the headphones or without holding in my hand.
good sound quality but have to use headphones that come with it because antenna within headphones.
i use it with my good headphones and it makes a difference.
the headphones are kind of cheesy, but that's not what i wanted the radio for.
reading other's reviews, i knew that either the headphones or the external wire antenna had to be used to get fm or weather.
you can plug stereo headphones in and the sound is great then, depending on the headphones you use.
i like the switch enabling the speaker even if the headphones are plugged in.
i was looking for a good quality small portable that pulled in the usual stations contiguous to the south jersey area and had a small speaker along with the headphone walkman capability.
it's very good and sensitive radio with good stereo quality of sound when listening with headphones.
as others have mentioned, the supplied earbuds are not representative of how good this radio can sound- add a pair of quality earbuds or decent headphones and you'll be amazed by the high fidelity
there is a 1" speaker that serves well-enough for am talk radio, and just barely for fm music programs if it's held near the ear--think of it as a backup to the headphones.
i use it all the time instead of using headphones.
through a good set of headphones this little radio really performs.
it sounds great with headphones, and surprising listenable with just its own little speaker.
i wanted a radio i could use with noise reduction headphones during my daily commute on the railroad from home to work.
i love this radio...except for the uncushioned earbud headphones.
it is very sensitive in both the fm and am bands and provides very good sound using any decent stereo headphone.
it does not have a speaker so you do need to use headphones or to connect an exterior speaker.highly recommended.
no more messing with the headphone cord.
i threw out the dual earbud headphones for a single ear bud so that i can still hear what's going on around me as i walk.
the sound is terrific, both from the speaker, as well as headphones.
the included retractable headphones are working well for him.
the digital tuning, backlit lcd display, ac adapter & external headphone connections, and even the 90-minute battery shutoff are all great features.
i also wanted one that allowed the versatility of a speaker and also headphones.the quest is over.
stereo sound through headphones very good.
very decent sound from the speaker and superb sound from a good pair of headphones.
the audio quality, although non-adjustable, is very easy to listen to for extended periods of time, and greatly improves with a pair of stereo headphones.
i decided to plug-in my expensive sony headphones and switch to fm stereo.
it has great fm (stereo with headphones), continuous coverage from 153khz to 29,999khz, great sound for it's size, a 1 khz fine tune option, good battery life from it's 3aa cells and many great
the speakers give a very good sound for their size and there is a headphone jack for those who want even better sound quality.
despite a its small size, the built-in speaker yields good sound, and a stereo audio jack is offered for external headphones or amplified speakers.
fm was clear, clean, stereo and sounded superb on headphones.
longer than most have said (batteries last longer with headphones).
i only ever listen to it using headphones.
